Opening for Mystery at the Vishnu Horizon: A Grand Canyon Adventure

Abstract

In the developing novel, Mystery at the Vishnu Horizon: A Grand Canyon Adventure, the amphibian character Irg, introduced in the Prologue, lived in the Canyon 500 million years ago, and left buried artifacts that profoundly influence events of the current day story in the Canyon with teenage character Beth that begins in the Chapter 1.

The two scenes submitted are inspired by exercises from Stuart Lishan's Fiction I class, drawn from Le Guin's Steering the Craft: "Character by Implication," "The Visitor," and "The Journey."
